Description

LaGrange College seeks to fill a one-year faculty appointment in Sociology at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.  The Sociology program is an anchor program within the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.  Through both a solid grounding in theory and engagement in the field (via internships and special programming) students receive a thorough and intensive introduction to the discipline.  The program’s engagement in LaGrange College’s Undergraduate Research Program affords students the opportunity to work directly with Sociology faculty on research projects that build their professional skills. The standard teaching load for this position is four courses each semester.

We seek a broadly trained Sociologist to teach survey as well as upper division Sociology courses (including Theory/Methods, Kinship & Family, Social Policy, etc.)   

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service, as well as an appreciation of the mission of small liberal arts institutions.

Earned doctorate in Sociology or advanced ABD status is required.
