TITLE:   Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator (Full-time 10-month position)  

FLSA: Exempt

DEPT:         Athletics (Football) 

  

Job Summary   

Under the direct supervision of the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach with all facets of the program including the organization, development, and leadership of a highly competitive Division III football program in support of the mission and core values of LaGrange College. Ideally, this person will coach either the Quarterbacks or the Offensive Line.  

Job Duties (but not limited to): 

  • Coaching all aspects of the offense. 

  • Coaching a position group. 

  • Game and practice preparation and planning. 

  • Scouting and video breakdown. 

  • Recruitment of qualified student-athletes. 

  • Academic monitoring of student-athletes.  

  • Demonstrates effective teaching /coaching methods and possesses excellent leadership.  

  • Foster and maintain positive student body and faculty relations with student-athletes. 

  • Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all College, NCAA and Conference Rules and Regulations. 

  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by the Head Football Coach. 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree along with coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level are required.  

  • Experience competing and/or coaching at the collegiate level  

  • Minimum of 4 years of coaching experience preferred. 

  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting & retaining students-athletes at the NCAA D3 

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. 

  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Ability to evaluate physical performance related to an inter-collegiate football program. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate both within and outside the College including, but not limited to, student-athletes, parents, recruits, coaches, civic and business leaders. 

  • Ability to work as a support individual within a group setting. 

  • Ability to provide effective leadership to student-athletes to encourage both successful academic development and competitive performance. 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (i.e., evenings, weekends). 

  • Current training in First Aid and CPR.
