LaGrange College seeks to fill a tenure-track appointment in exercise science, with specialization in strength and conditioning, at the rank of assistant or associate professor beginning August 1, 2024.

A Ph.D. in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a related field is required, although outstanding ABD candidates will be considered. The successful candidate must complete their terminal degree prior to the end of their second year in the position, and must possess the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential from the NSCA prior to the start date.
The current teaching load is 24 credit hours per year (4-4 load), including introductory coursework, upper-level courses in the candidate’s field(s) of specialization, and courses that satisfy the college’s general education curriculum, known as Ethos. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve in exercise science, one of the largest major programs on campus and will be instrumental in offering a new exercise science concentration in strength and conditioning beginning in Fall 2024, and supervise and mentor undergraduate research projects in the field. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and institutional service, as well as an understanding of, and appreciation for, the mission of liberal arts institutions.
