Description

LaGrange College seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty appointment in the Department of Psychological Sciences beginning August 2022. The Psychological Science program supports students in learning the empirical science of psychology with emphasis on research and internship. There is a required year-long senior research project which allows faculty to complete research in their area of expertise with undergraduate students as part of their teaching load. The standard teaching load is four courses each semester.

Teaching responsibilities would include courses within the candidate’s specialization, along with Introduction to Psychology and Senior Capstone.

Candidates should be engaged in scholarly activity and be able to include undergraduate students in projects. Mentorship of senior research projects is also expected.

We would be highly interested in candidates that have experience in advising, recruitment, and student organizations, like Psi Chi or other psychology clubs.  Candidates with previous experience in higher education are highly desired.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, a desire to communicate the empirical base of psychology to students, and an appreciation of the mission of small liberal arts institutions.

A PhD in Psychology or a related field is preferred; Degree must be earned by August 2022. Consideration given to PhD candidates who are ABD.
