Description

Non-Tenure-track, nine-month teaching position with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, clinical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in teams. Will apply baccalaureate-level teaching experience and a genuine interest in the environment of a liberal arts college in performing the position duties and responsibilities:

  • Teaching in the classroom and clinical areas, including all activities related to the educational process.
  • Development of innovative, participative learning activities.
  • Participation in nursing program and course planning, development, and evaluation; in other program related events; in College committees and other activities.
  • Student advisement in the formal academic advisement process and with students who have special learning needs.
  • Defining and implementing service activities within the College and/or the community.
  • Maintenance of clinical expertise.
  • Maintenance of current knowledge related to nursing practice and nursing education.
  • To attend college functions, including commencement; convocation; and faculty, committee and departmental meetings.
  • To participate in scheduled orientation and registration programs.
  • Participation in individual and/or group scholarly activities.
  • Participation in professional organization(s).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Experience and/or other evidence of competence in one or more areas of clinical nursing practice.
  • Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level is preferred and may be required.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
  • Evidence of past participation and continuing interest in scholarly activities relating to the nursing profession.
  • Commitment to cooperative and collegial working relationships.
  • Evidence of past participation and continuing interest in professional organizations.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone, virtual (requires long periods of sitting and or standing) and in writing. Job takes place in normal environmental conditions.
