TITLE: Part-time Head Women’s Golf Coach
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Athletics & Recreation, the Part-time Head Women’s Golf Coach oversees all aspects of the NCAA Division III women’s golf program. This individual will provide leadership supporting the program’s goals, which align with the College’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
RESPONSIBILITIES HEAD GOLF COACH:
1. Ensures the intercollegiate golf program supports LaGrange College's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
2. Organizes and directs an effective intercollegiate golf program.
3. Ensures compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and USA South Conference rules and regulations.
4. Coordinates the recruitment of prospective student-athletes for the golf program.
5. Inform the Director of Athletics & Recreation on all matters relating to the golf program.
6. Prepares the annual operating budget structure, monitors expenditures, and ensures the golf program stays within budget allocations.
7. Develop and maintain a recruiting system to identify potential prospective student-athletes by working closely with area high school coaches and two-year college coaches.
8. Works with the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid to expedite the admission and financial aid award process for prospective student-athletes.
9. Develop the contest schedule and coordinate all team travel arrangements.
10. Serves as a positive role model for student-athletes by always exhibiting ethical and professional conduct.
11. Plans, organizes and administers all in-season practice activities.
12. Represent LaGrange College at civic, community speaking, fundraising, and marketing events.
13. Supervises all pre-season conditioning activities and non-traditional season programs.
14. Coordinates all aspects of golf camps and clinics.
15. Oversees work-study students.
16. Contributes to the overall success of the intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college.
2. Required: Prior golf coaching experience or a PGA Certification with teaching experience.
3. Required: Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and alumni.
4. Required: Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
5. Preferred: Master’s degree.
6. Preferred: Three to five years of administrative/head golf coaching experience at the collegiate level.
