LaGrange College seeks to fill a tenure-track appointment in exercise science, with specialization in strength and conditioning at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 1, 2023. A Ph.D. in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a related field is required, although outstanding ABD candidates will be considered. The successful candidate must complete their terminal degree prior to the end of their second year in the position, and must possess appropriate strength and conditioning certification (e.g., NSCA) prior to the start date.


The current teaching load is eight courses per year, including introductory coursework, upper-level courses in the candidate’s field(s) of specialization, and courses that satisfy the college’s general education curriculum, known as Ethos. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve in one of the largest major programs on campus and supervise and mentor undergraduate research projects in the field. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and institutional service, as well as an understanding of, and appreciation for, the mission of liberal arts institutions.



About LaGrange College

LaGrange College, founded in 1831 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church, is the oldest private institution in Georgia. While most LaGrange’s students hail from Georgia and surrounding states, the institution has an extended reach, attracting students from many US states and ten countries around the world.
