Nursing Faculty Position

LaGrange College seeks to fill tenure-eligible appointment at the assistant or associate professor level in Nursing beginning August 1, 2027. Field of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in mental health or medical surgical nursing.

An MSN and unencumbered licensure are required for the position; a Doctor of Nursing Practice or Ph.D. in nursing education is required for a tenure-track appointment.

The teaching load is 24 credits annually, as appropriate to the successful candidate’s field(s) of specialization in nursing and can include courses that satisfy the college’s general education curriculum, known as Ethos. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and institutional service, as well as an understanding of, and appreciation for, the mission of liberal arts institutions.

The nursing program maintains a close relationship with West Georgia Medical Center (Wellstar) and the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta (CHOA). Through both a solid grounding in theory and engagement in the field (via clinical experiences, collaborative undergraduate research, and other opportunities) nursing students receive a thorough, intensive, and experiential education in the discipline. The nursing program recently received an unqualified re-accreditation from ACEN through 2032.

Required documents include:

  • A letter of interest describing the alignment of the candidate’s qualifications with the position requirements
  • Current curriculum vitae
  • A teaching philosophy that also addresses ways in which the candidate creates and sustains a culture of belonging, fairness, and appreciation for different perspectives in the classroom
  • Graduate and undergraduate transcripts (copies are fine at this point)
  • Contact information (only) for three professional references

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check as a prerequisite for the position. Any questions about the position should be addressed to officeoftheVPAA@lagrange.edu.
