THE OPPORTUNITY: LaGrange College invites applications for its Dean of Admissions position. The Dean of Admissions is a key member of the Enrollment Management and Student Experience leadership team and serves as the senior enrollment advisor to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Experience. Supervising 5 professional staff, the Dean should be a high energy and positive leader with experience in leading a team in achieving enrollment growth. As part of a campus-wide commitment to recruitment efforts to increase enrollment, the Dean will lead the effort to implement the college’s Enrollment Management plan. The college has experienced significant enrollment growth in the past 3 years, growing by 27% since Fall 2021, adding new programs in Aviation, Engineering, Education and Computer Science.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate for the college’s next Dean of Admissions should have progressive responsibility and proven success in recruitment of first-year, transfer, and graduate students. Experience with the recruitment of international students is preferable but not required. Experience in leadership and management of staff is also required.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader within the enrollment management team and with other administrative and faculty areas. They will demonstrate a strategic, data-driven approach to admissions and financial aid yield strategies with an understanding of data and analytics. They will possess a dedication to campus relations and the ability to educate and engage faculty and staff in enrollment events, practices and strategies. We are seeking a leader who has the ability to partner and lead in all marketing and communications, from print to social media, including AI and digital advertising. They will demonstrate the ability to manage, motivate and lead staff with an eagerness to support and mentor direct reports. They will have a commitment to the core mission of the college as a United Methodist Institution and to liberal arts education. The successful candidate must be a good listener and a strong storyteller. A Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
