Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Campus Store Manager, the Campus Store Assistant is responsible for helping in organizing, receiving, distributing, and invoicing all merchandise. The Assistant is responsible for opening and closing as required and directed by the Manager. The Assistant will aid the Store Manager in the oversight of Work Studies and Staff assigned to the Campus Store. The Assistant must demonstrate a great understanding of exceptional sales floor service. The Assistant will attend and participate in scheduled events outside of normal business hours including, but not limited to home athletic events, special after-hour events hosted at the store, and campus-wide events that require Panther Connection to be open or present (some nights and weekends will be required).


Job Duties (but not limited to):

  • Assist in ordering all merchandise. Ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of all merchandise using point of sale software.
  • Assist in planning and organizing promotions and sales.
  • Supervise work study student workers and staff assigned to campus store.
  • Assisting the Store Manager in coordinating the store participation at athletic and other campus events.
  • Assist in maintaining store website and social media outlets.
  • Process web orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Actively assist customers while completing other tasks during store hours.

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent and experience in retail or a customer-facing position. Or, the equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education as approved by Human Resources.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills with point-of-sale software, MS Word, Outlook, Excel,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytic, organization and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and all key members of the college and local community.
