Description

LaGrange College seeks to fill two tenure-track appointments in exercise science at the rank of assistant or associate professor beginning August 1, 2025.

A minimum of a master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, or a related field is required for the position.  For a tenure-line position, a terminal degree is required. Outstanding ABD candidates will be considered, but the terminal degree must be completed prior to the end of their second year in the position.  The ability to teach in our strength and conditioning concentration and/or in the areas of motor learning and control or sports psychology are preferred.  Those teaching in strength and conditioning must possess the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential from the National Strength & Conditioning Association prior to the start date. 

 

The current teaching load is 24 credit hours (4/4) per year, including introductory coursework, upper-level courses in the candidate’s field(s) of specialization, and courses that satisfy the college’s general education curriculum, known as Ethos. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve in one of the largest major programs on campus and supervise and mentor undergraduate research projects in the field. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and institutional service, as well as an understanding of, and appreciation for, the mission of liberal arts institutions.
