Job Summary
This position reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and is responsible for managing general accounting reporting and operations, cash management controls, and internal controls. The incumbent will maintain accounting records, oversee financial and management reporting, monitor budget performance, and provide support on other related fiscal and accounting matters. The role also includes oversight of accounts payable and student accounts receivable, including the collection of outstanding student account balances in coordination with relevant departments.
Job Duties (but not limited to)
Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget.
Provide financial forecasts and variance analysis.
Support department heads with budget planning and monitoring.
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, student accounts receivable, and asset management.
Manage the collection of student account balances, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding payments.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Ensure financial practices comply with federal, state, and institutional policies.
Implement audit recommendations and maintain proper documentation.
Monitor daily cash flow and manage short-term investments.
Oversee banking relationships and ensure timely reconciliations.
Supervise business office staff.
Supervise auxiliary services, including the campus store, print shop, and post office.
Serve as a liaison with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with an emphasis in accounting; a master’s degree is highly desirable. 5–7 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, preferably within a private higher education institution or not-for-profit entity. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, FASB and other financial principles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Ability to enforce College policies while maintaining a student-centered approach.
Experience in managing collections and resolving outstanding account balances.
