POSITION SUMMARY:

LaGrange College is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director for Community and Corporate Relations. The Assistant Director will report directly to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and work closely with the development team and LaGrange College’s Advancement division. The Assistant Director will collaborate on strategies to maximize support for LaGrange Athletics and assist in managing, securing, and fulfilling corporate partnerships. The successful applicant will gain valuable experience in community relations as well as coordinate and support events and promotions with other LC athletic administrators.

This is a two year paid internship position. 

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Development, Alumni Relations, and Athletic partners to identify corporate and community partnerships.
  • Maintains and manages relationships with current and prospective partners.
  • Recommends changes to enhance innovation, objectives, and goals of the athletic fundraising program.
  • Organizes essential community relations events including annual Tom Duckett Golf Tournament and Panther Athletic camps.
  • Travel to establish relationships with prospective Panther athletic partners.
  • Plans and coordinates athletic community and fan events.
  • Attends LaGrange College Athletic events.

III. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred disciplines of study in Marketing, Business, and/ or Sport Management.

IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and capability to determine priorities; ability to manage several activities and strategies simultaneously and meet deadlines. Thinks critically and analytically. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Proficient computer skills include Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
