LaGrange College seeks to fill a 3-year non-tenure line appointment for a lecturer of education beginning August 1, 2024.  This position is renewable or able to be converted into a tenure line position in the future.

The minimum academic credential for the position is the Education Specialist in curriculum, pedagogy, teacher leadership, or related area; although an earned doctorate in education or related field is preferred.    

Teaching responsibilities will be focused primarily in the Master of Education (M.Ed.) and Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) advanced degree programs, as well as teaching undergraduate courses in the Elementary Education and Education Studies programs. Both the M.Ed. and Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction program prepares classroom teachers seeking to improve their planning, instructional and assessment skills.  Graduate courses are taught in a hybrid fashion and undergraduate courses are taught in person.

In addition to the academic requirement, the successful applicant must demonstrate accomplishment in educational research, preferably related to PK-12 teaching; experience teaching in P-12 classrooms; experience as an instructional and/or teacher leader; and experience with curriculum design, mentoring teachers, peer coaching, community relations, organizational change, and school advocacy.  Applicants must have adequate quantitative and qualitative research skills to lead action research studies and assess professional development. Applicants should have a record of scholarship commensurate with their years of experience.
